Gathering Point
All Ngāti Toa iwi members are asked to congregate inside the RNZ building site for the ceremony. A site map is attached here!

The monthly board hui are held every 3rd Thursday of the month, at 2pm in the Old Wharekai Building, Takapūwāhia Marae and are open to iwi members.

Local whānau business recognised at Amotai awards
Ka mau te wehi, we would like to acknowledge local whānau business, Tito Group Limited who were recently nominated as one of the finalists for the annual Amotai Supplier Diversity Awards in Auckland.
This category recognises businesses that have experienced growth as a result of their involvement with Amotai and have used this growth to make a positive impact on local Māori and Pasifika economies.

Life mask of Wiremu Nera Te Kanae returned to Porirua after more than 100 years

It has been 2 years since the life mask of tūpuna Wiremu Neera Te Kanae (Wineera Te Kanae) was returned home to his whenua and whānau as a treasured taonga to Takapūwāhia Marae. This significant event marked the end of more than 120 years of the life mask being housed at the Grassi Museum in Leipzig, Germany.

Ngāti Toa Rangatira has released a powerful new waiata learning resource — six original songs performed and recorded by rangatahi of Ngāti Toa.
Created by Ngāti Toa uri, this resource includes kupu, actions, and audio tracks to make learning accessible for our iwi members and targeted audiences, as well as the wider community.


Te Kāhui Whakarehunga established to advance kotahitanga across iwi of Wellington, Waiarapa and Kapiti
A new iwi collective – Te Kāhui Whakarehunga – has been established, bringing together iwi from Wellington, Wairarapa and Kapiti with the shared aim of advancing kotahitanga in response to the call of the late Kiingi Tuheitia Pōtatau Te Wherowhero VII.

Memorandum of Understanding for the care and wellbeing of our toanga - Kiwi Pukapuka
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Brook Waimārama Sanctuary and Ngāti Toa is now in place. The purpose of the MOU is to define the relationship between Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira and The Brook Waimārama Sanctuary to ensure the overarching care and wellbeing of our taonga and to maintain good working relationships.

Āti Awa Toa Wellington Regional Sports Awards
At last night’s Āti Awa Toa Sports Awards, Toa Hockey Club was recognised in the iwi awards category, receiving the 'He Tohu Arohanui ki te Tangata Award', alongside Kalae Kenny our up and coming basketball superstar (watch out Jordan) who was awarded the 'He Tohu Taiohi Hono ki tōna Hapori'.
We also acknowledge iwi members Huria Martin and Kiharoa Landon-Lane who were nominated for awards, as well as all of last night’s winners. It was great to see local community clubs like




Tamariki Ora holiday programme - a week of culture, friendship and fun
During the recent school holidays, 20 tamariki aged 5 to 12 took part in the Tamariki Ora Holiday Programme — a week filled with laughter, learning, and meaningful cultural experiences. The programme provided a safe, welcoming environment where children could explore their identities, connect with others, and just enjoy being kids.

Māhutonga our new commissioning agency
On Monday we launched our new Whānau Ora Commissioning Agency - Māhutonga. Like the southern constellation it’s named after, Māhutonga provides guidance and direction — illuminating a new path for commissioning that is by Māori, for Māori, and focused on achieving real outcomes for whānau, hapū and iwi.

Passionate about making a difference for his community
Nīkau Wineera (Ngāti Toa, Te Āti Awa) is the son of Te Ariki Wineera and Amanda Jones. He was raised between Wellington and Kāpiti, always keeping strong links to Hongoeka Marae, a place that has helped shape who he is today.
