    • 7.10am – Whakaora te Mauri

    • 7.30am – Speeches (by invitation)

    • 8.00am – Kai whakanoa

    • 8.00am–9.00am – Whakawhanaungatanga

    Parking Information

    • Kaumātua & disabled parking: Limited spaces available onsite, first in first served.

    • General parking: Please park along Shelley Street and Owhiti Street, Titahi Bay, near the RNZ building site entrance.

    Gathering Point

    All Ngāti Toa iwi members are asked to congregate inside the RNZ building site for the ceremony. A site map is attached here!

  • The monthly board hui are held  every 3rd Thursday of the month, at 2pm in the Old Wharekai Building, Takapūwāhia Marae and are open to iwi members.

It has been 2 years since the life mask of tūpuna Wiremu Neera Te Kanae (Wineera Te Kanae) was returned home to his whenua and whānau as a treasured taonga to Takapūwāhia Marae. This significant event marked the end of more than 120 years of the life mask being housed at the Grassi Museum in Leipzig, Germany.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Brook Waimārama Sanctuary and Ngāti Toa is now in place. The purpose of the MOU is to define the relationship between Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira and The Brook Waimārama Sanctuary to ensure the overarching care and wellbeing of our taonga and to maintain good working relationships.
