Piki Te Mauri
Lifting attendance. Strengthening wellbeing. Supporting every student to thrive.
Piki Te Mauri works alongside whānau, schools and communities to support better attendance and stronger engagement for rangatahi across Porirua and Wellington City.
Guided by Ngāti Toa values and grounded in Mauri Ora, we take a holistic, relationship-first approach — recognising that wellbeing, connection and support around the learner are just as important as what happens in the classroom.
Through strong partnerships and clear pathways of support, we help create the conditions where students feel seen, supported and ready to succeed.

What guides our mahi
Communication
We keep the kōrero flowing — providing clear, timely updates and inviting open feedback so everyone remains informed, engaged, and connected throughout the journey.
Whānau-centred
Whānau are at the heart of everything we do. Through shared assessments and collaborative goal-setting, families play an active role in shaping the pathway forward — ensuring each student’s needs, strengths and story are truly understood.
School engagement
Our hui ā kanohi approach builds genuine connections with schools. By working closely with educators, we identify both the strengths and the barriers around attendance, creating a space for honest dialogue and better outcomes for students.
