In March 2022, Ngāti Toa established Toa Developments Limited to lead residential and commercial property developments across the Ngāti Toa rohe. As an iwi-owned entity, Toa Developments focuses on creating sustainable, high-quality developments that support whānau, strengthen iwi assets, and drive economic growth.

In August 2024, Ngāti Toa iwi members will have the opportunity to purchase refurbished townhouses at 26 View Road, Titahi Bay. The homes are sold under a leasehold model, where buyers own the house while Ngāti Toa retains ownership of the land. This approach makes home ownership more affordable by reducing upfront costs.

In 2022, Ngāti Toa Rangatira, in partnership with the Ministry of Education, secured a landmark agreement to purchase and lease back the land of 40 public schools across Porirua and Wellington. This agreement strengthens Ngāti Toa’s role as kaitiaki of these lands while ensuring long-term benefits for future generations.

Te Kete Hāpai, launched in 2022/23, supports iwi members in strengthening Ngāti Toatanga while fostering whānaungatanga and manaakitanga. It removes barriers to wellbeing by improving access, deepening whakapapa connections, and creating opportunities for whānau to grow and thrive.

Te Kuaha was established to grow and strengthen iwi businesses by building capability and creating opportunities. It provides recognition, fosters collaboration, and connects businesses with Rūnanga services to support growth. Te Kuaha also helps businesses secure procurement opportunities, employ more of our own, and build long-term success.

The Leadership Hub was established in 2022, our vision is to see Ngāti Toa leaders thriving across iwi organizations, the public and private sectors, businesses, and on our marae. Recognizing the need for succession, we are committed to creating pathways that identify, support, and train future leaders within the iwi.
