Ngāti Toa Representative – Ka Uruora Te Tau Ihu

Help Shape the Future of Iwi Housing

Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira is seeking a passionate and well-connected individual to represent Ngāti Toa on the Ka Uruora Te Tau Ihu Board. Ka Uruora is an iwi-led initiative supporting whānau into sustainable housing through financial education, housing pathways, and strategic partnerships across Te Tau Ihu.

The Board Member will represent Ngāti Toa on the Ka Uruora Te Tau Ihu Board, acting as a connector between the programme, whānau, and Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira.

The role supports the strategic direction and success of Ka Uruora Te Tau Ihu while ensuring Ngāti Toa whānau are well-informed and able to access housing opportunities.

We're Looking for Someone Who:

  • Has strong connections with Ngāti Toa whānau

  • Is passionate about improving housing outcomes for Māori

  • Brings governance, leadership, or community experience (desirable but not essential)

  • Can build strong relationships and advocate for whānau aspirations

  • Is committed to kaupapa Māori values

In This Role You Will:

  • Represent Ngāti Toa on the Ka Uruora Te Tau Ihu Board

  • Contribute to strategic governance and decision-making

  • Promote housing opportunities and programmes to whānau

  • Strengthen relationships with iwi partners and stakeholders

Role Details

  • Quarterly Board meetings

  • Annual hui with Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira

  • Ongoing support provided by the Pou Ōhanga team

This is a voluntary (non-remunerated) governance position.
