Te Umu ki Rangituhi is dedicated to strengthening whānau wellbeing through practical support, community connection and mana-enhancing service delivery. Our team works across Te Umu ki Rangituhi, Kai Pātaka and Food Rescue Services, ensuring quality food and essential resources reach those who need them most. We are passionate about reducing food insecurity, fostering community resilience, and delivering services grounded in kaupapa Māori values. Working alongside dedicated kaimahi, volunteers and community partners, we strive to create meaningful and lasting outcomes for whānau across our communities.
Ko te tūranga mahi | About the role
The Kaiārahi Ratonga Manaaki Hāpori is responsible for supporting the day-to-day leadership and coordination of Te Umu ki Rangituhi, Kai Pātaka and Food Rescue Services, ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently and in a way that upholds the mana of our whānau and community.
Key responsibilities include:
· Coordinating daily food rescue, storage, distribution, and community service operations.
· Providing leadership, guidance, and support to kaimahi and volunteers to achieve high standards of service delivery.
· Monitoring service performance, operational outcomes and resource requirements to support continuous improvement.
· Building and maintaining strong relationships with whānau, community partners, food donors and stakeholders.
· Supporting compliance with food safety, health and safety, and organisational policies and procedures.
· Contributing to operational planning, reporting and achievement of service objectives and community impact measures.

· Coordinating people, resources, and day-to-day operational activities.
· Building positive relationships with whānau, volunteers, community organisations and stakeholders.
· Managing competing priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail and service quality.
· You will bring a practical leadership style, strong organisational skills, sound judgement and a commitment to mana-enhancing practice.
· Experience collaborating with volunteers, community groups or within a kaupapa Māori environment will be highly valued.
You will have a strong background in food rescue operations, community engagement, volunteer leadership and delivering high-quality, whānau-centred services.
