Ko ngā wheako ōu | About you

You bring strong teaching experience and a genuine commitment to supporting tamariki rangatahi. You are motivated to engage with and learn alongside Ngāti Toa and are confident in delivering high-quality education.

You will have experience in:

• Co-teaching experience, with strength in project-based and digital learning
• Broad curriculum delivery experience across secondary and or primary education, including assessment and achievement pathways
• Specialist subject expertise, with adaptable and engaging teaching practice
• Strong attention to detail in planning, delivery, and assessment
• Professional, discreet and able to work with sensitivity in diverse learning environments

Ko te tūranga mahi | About the role

Our team of kaiako are responsible for the safe and deliberate transmission of intergenerational mātauranga to our tamariki and rangatahi. Working alongside the Tumuaki, whānau, and iwi, you will help design and deliver curriculum that reflects the aspirations of Ngāti Toa, and the realities of a changing world – grounded in our history and identity.

You will:

• Uphold and live our tikanga and mātāpono
• Champion end-to-end mātauranga transmission
• Commit to ongoing professional development and contribute learning back to the team
• Apply best practice, informed by current research and theory across the relevant sectors
