Mana Whenua Representative-Te Tiriti o Waitangi Komiti
Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira is seeking expressions of interest from Ngāti Toa members to be nominated their interests on Te Tiriti o Waitangi Komiti of Greater Wellington Regional Council.
Following amendments to the Committee's Terms of Reference, each of Greater Wellington's mana whenua partners will nominate a member to the Komiti.
About the Role
Te Tiriti o Waitangi Komiti provides leadership and oversight to ensure Greater Wellington upholds its Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations, commitments, and responsibilities. The Komiti:
Supports robust decision-making that enables equitable outcomes for Māori.
Oversees strategies, policies, agreements, and initiatives relating to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and mana whenua partnerships.
Monitors Greater Wellington's commitments under Treaty settlements.
Makes recommendations to Council on these matters.
We're Looking For
Applicants should have the skills, knowledge, and experience to contribute effectively to the work of the Komiti. The successful applicant will also be expected to maintain ongoing engagement with relevant Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira teams.

Committee members are subject to the Local Authorities (Members Interests) Act 1968 and must carefully consider any actual or potential conflicts of interest.
This is a remunerated position.
