Upcoming Updates to Our Rūnanga Rules & Special General Meeting Resolution
NOTICE OF SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING
Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira gives notice to Ngāti Toa Rangatira iwi members that a Special General Meeting (SGM) is to be convened by the Tumuaki, in accordance with section 16 of the Rūnanga Rules.
Date: Saturday, 9 May 2026
Time: 2.00pm – 4.00pm
Venue: Takapūwāhia Marae, Cnr Ngatitoa and Te Hiko Streets, Porirua
Purpose of the SGM
The purpose of the SGM is to consider and vote on proposed amendments to the Rūnanga Rules that are required to meet our legislative obligations under the Māori Fisheries Amendment Act 2024, along with the Incorporated Societies Act 2022 that represent best‑practice governance.

Special Resolution
The proposed special resolution must be approved by at least 75% of registered iwi Members of Ngāti Toa Rangatira, aged 18 years and over, who are entitled to vote and who cast a vote in accordance with the voting procedures of the Rūnanga.
Voting opens on Tuesday, 7 April. Eligible members will have the opportunity to vote by:
