He Kākano Thrives Thanks to Our Partners

This year, our He Kākano internship programme has followed the journeys of interns who each began from different starting points and are now stepping confidently into their futures. Their stories reflect what’s possible when trusted relationships, shared values, and the right support come together.

Today, we’re proud to celebrate Conner Chadwick as the next successful He Kākano intern.

Conner will begin his internship in the new year, undertaking a series of six-month placements, starting with Te Tumu Paeroa, before progressing to Datacom and finishing with Sharesies. He becomes our third intern through the programme, following in the footsteps of Karlee Selwyn and Ruka Feite.

Conner grew up in the pā, surrounded by whānau, including his three brothers, next door to his grandparents, Neta and John Greening. He aspires to build a career in the tech industry and has studied Data Science and Information Systems at Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington, placing him in good stead for the future.

He Kākano continues to grow through meaningful partnerships with Te Tumu Paeroa, Datacom, and Sharesies. While our role is to walk alongside and provide guidance, the success belongs to our interns, those who take the opportunity and turn it into momentum.

Conner now joins a growing line of He Kākano success stories, and we’re excited to see where his journey leads next. He tauira, he hua, he taonga’, proof that when we invest in our people, the future is bright.
