Hīkoi Māwhero

Your support, presence, and commitment to raising awareness for breast cancer means so much to our community and to the many whānau whose lives have been touched by this journey.

Register for Hīkoi Māwhero

First lap kaupapa

The first lap will be a time of reflection, remembrance, and solidarity.

As we come together in remembrance, celebration, and hope, we would like to honour those among us who have experienced breast cancer firsthand, those who are breast cancer survivors, and those who have lost a loved one to breast cancer.

We warmly invite these individuals to lead the start of our hīkoi, acknowledging their courage, resilience, strength, and the journeys they and their whānau have travelled.

For those who have lost a loved one, you are welcome to bring a photograph and carry it during the first lap as a special way of honouring and remembering them.

Fundraising to support with oncology massage therapy

As part of Hīkoi Māwhero, we are also raising funds to provide oncology massage therapy for those currently on their cancer journey. These massages will be delivered by local oncology massage therapists and are intended to provide comfort, relaxation, and support to those undergoing treatment and recovery.

Koha

We suggest a $10 contribution per person to support this kaupapa.

All registered participants paying a koha will receive a Hīkoi Māwhero wristband, which gets them a hot coffee or other hot drink during the event.

We will also have a range of Hīkoi Māwhero merchandise available for purchase on the day.

Every registration, donation, and merchandise purchase helps us continue supporting those affected by breast cancer and contributes directly to the wellbeing of our community.

Together, we walk in remembrance, celebration, support, and hope for a future free from breast cancer.
