Piki Te Mauri is an iwi-led attendance and engagement service delivered by Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira. Our kaupapa is grounded in whanaungatanga, manaakitanga, and mana motuhake, supporting tamariki, rangatahi and their whānau to reconnect with education in ways that honour identity, culture, and lived experience.
We work alongside kura, whānau, and community partners to remove barriers to attendance and wellbeing, and to create pathways that uplift the mauri of our rangatahi.

We are on the hunt for a Senior Advisor
As a Kaitohu Matua – Senior Advisor, you will lead strategic relationships to support system-level responses to attendance barriers. This includes building trusted partnerships with government, education, and community organisations. providing expertise and guidance to the team, advocate for prevention, innovation, and integrated support while positioning the Piki Te Mauri model within wider service systems.
You will:
· Build trusting relationships with key kaupapa partners
· Support whānau-led plans to re-engage in education
· Work collaboratively with kura, agencies, and community services
· Advocate for rangatahi within education and support systems
· Contribute to iwi-led, strengths-based solutions grounded in kaupapa Māori
Please note that this roles require a full New Zealand drivers licence.

Well, after hearing about us and about the roles, you’ll know whether you’re the right person, and whether now is the right time for you. Your high-level experience and professional expertise in supporting whānau is a given, and you will be excited to engage and learn alongside Ngāti Toa. Of course, you’ll be well practiced with/in
· Experience working in attendance, education, social services, or community-based organisations
· Excellent communication skills
· Understanding of kaupapa Māori organisations or iwi-led service delivery
