About Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira
Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira is the mandated iwi authority for Ngāti Toa Rangatira.
Through their Pou Whakamana programme, they are creating pathways for whānau to build wealth, for whānau-owned businesses to grow, and for people to access services that enhance their mauri ora.
Pou Whakamana represents a step-change in iwi-led economic development — redesigning how prosperity flows to whānau through values-led procurement, financial empowerment, and business support.
This programme is funded, supported, and moving at pace — creating a lasting framework for intergenerational prosperity and self-determination.
Nga Kōwhiringa | The opportunities
We are seeking a passionate, skilled individual to help deliver this kaupapa:
Principal Advisor – Iwi Business Services (#119)
A senior role for an experienced project and programme leader who can turn strategy into delivery.
You’ll work alongside the GM Iwi Business Services to lead complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives that drive systemic change across the Toa Economy — including:
A financial empowerment platform enabling whānau to grow intergenerational wealth; and
A kaupapa Māori procurement framework redirecting regional spend into whānau-led enterprise.
You’ll bring strong project management expertise, experience working in or with Māori organisations, and the ability to lead through influence, collaboration, and kaupapa.
