Ngāti Toa School Board of Trustees
Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira is seeking expressions of interest from iwi members to be appointed as the Ngāti Toa representative on the above board.
Ngāti Toa School is a small primary school situated in Titahi Bay, Porirua. It caters for students from years 12 to 8. Most on the roll identify as Maori and the school has a close association with the local marae. While education is provided in English, tikanga Maori is incorporated naturally in daily routines and practices. The school operates as a whanau and is warm and welcoming. It is an established part of the community and many on the roll are second generation students.
The role of the board is to provide governance to the school. The board, and/or its individual members, are not involved in day-to-day operations of the school.
The Ngāti Toa School Board meet monthly in a meeting which is open to the public. The meeting generally covers student achievement, finance, property, personnel matters, policy review and development and all matters relating to the effective.
The position is remunerated. Closing date is 12 September 2025.
