Ko wai mātou | About us
At Ora Toa Health Services, it’s not just about us – it’s about the people and communities we serve. Ngāti Toa is a strong, vibrant, and influential iwi, firmly grounded in our cultural identity. We’re advancing together into a brighter future, leading change to strengthen the wellbeing and prosperity of our whānau and the wider community.
Ko te tīmā | About the team
You’ll be joining our Health Leadership Team – a collaborative, fast-paced, and passionate group working alongside iwi, whānau, and partners to improve health outcomes. This is a team that thrives on connection, innovation, and making a genuine difference.
Ko te tūranga mahi | About the role
We’re looking for a dynamic Executive Assistant to provide high-level support to our Director of Health. This role is varied, exciting, and central to the smooth running of the Health portfolio. You’ll be the organisational powerhouse behind the Director, helping to ensure their time, priorities, and responsibilities are well supported.
Key responsibilities include:
· Providing executive and secretariat support, including meeting coordination, agendas, minutes, and board/committee packs.
· Managing diaries, correspondence, travel, and logistics.
· Preparing and collating reports and documentation with accuracy and confidentiality.
· Supporting events and health portfolio initiatives.
· Acting as a trusted point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
· Building strong relationships across the Rūnanga, iwi, government, and partner organisations.
· This is an opportunity to be at the heart of health leadership, contributing to something much bigger than yourself.
Ko ngā wheako ōu | About you
You will bring strong experience in executive support or personal assistant roles, ideally in health, government, or iwi organisations. You will be highly skilled and organised in managing competing priorities, building strong relationships, and working with discretion and professionalism.
You will also have:
Demonstrated experience in providing secretariat support to boards or committees.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare accurate reports and documents.
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and digital tools.
A proactive, agile approach, with the ability to adapt to change and respond quickly to new priorities.
A commitment to kaupapa Māori approaches and to the values of Ngāti Toa.
But the thing that will really stand out is your love for the work, and the people. The Rūnanga is a diverse and inclusive organisation positioned to understand and serve our communities. So you’ll be ready to give your best in the service of others, in areas that matter.
And in return for your hard work, we can offer you:
· Work / Life Balance;
· Modern environment with friendly team;
· Commitment to professional development;
· The opportunity to serve our iwi and community aspirations – to be a part of a bigger purpose.
If you’re excited by this opportunity, we’d love to hear from you! Please contact Michael Rongo, Director of Health, at Michael.rongo@oratoa.co.nz
