Up Foundation Reference Group - Ngāti Toa Iwi Representative
Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira is seeking expressions of interest from iwi members to be appointed as the Ngāti Toa representative on the above reference group.
Ko te kaupapa – About the Up Foundation
The Up Foundation is leading a primary prevention research initiative, with a major project set to commence in 2026 across Titahi Bay, Takapuwahia and Elsdon.
As part of this, they are establishing a Reference Group to provide community-based leadership, ensure local ownership, and make informed investment decisions based on research and community insight.
Representation will include local school leaders, councillors, and health providers. The Up Foundation has a strong research partnership with Te Rito Toi (University of Auckland) and Te Kura Tatai Hauora (Victoria University), focused on addressing the barriers that prevent underrepresented tamariki and their whānau from participating in sport, arts, and other community-led activities. Their goal is to develop long-term, evidence-informed solutions that are responsive to local needs.
The estimated commitment is one 90 - minute hui per quarter.
This position is not remunerated.
