Kapiti City District Council

Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira is seeking expressions of interest from iwi members to be appointed as the Ngāti Toa representative on the above board.

The role of Council

Our role as the Kāpiti Coast District Council is to lead and represent our community, and to enable democratic local decision-making to promote the social, economic, environmental and cultural wellbeing of the Kāpiti Coast.

Our vision and direction

Council directly impacts your tūrangawaewae – where you live, learn, work, play, and socialise. We provide everyday necessities such as water, street lighting, and roading, and help connect our communities through the provision of parks, pools, and libraries. We’re who you deal with when you want to build, buy, or renovate your property, and when you run a local business. We care for the local environment and the people who live here. We understand our history, deliver for the present, and plan for our communities’ future needs.

Working with our mana whenua partners

We’re committed to our partnership with mana whenua, and ensuring we address and prioritise issues of importance for our iwi partners. Appointed mana whenua representatives have a seat at our governance table, and we work together in mana-enhancing ways for our community.

The position is remunerated.

Closing date is 17 September 2025. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you. To apply, send us your expression of interest and CV to lynda@ngatitoa.iwi.nz
