UPANE KA UPANE, WHITI TE RA!
Advancing together into a brighter future
Ko wai mātou | About us
Well, it’s not actually about us at all. It’s about the people and communities we serve. Ngāti Toa is a vibrant and influential iwi, firmly grounded in our cultural identity. And we’re paddling our own waka forward in leading significant change in enhancing the mana, wellbeing and prosperity of Ngāti Toa and the communities in which we thrive.
We not only look after our communities, but we also look after our kaimahi and have a range of benefits including a commitment to professional development with opportunities to move around our organisation, alongside many kaimahi benefits such as discounted rates for gym membership.

About the team
Based within Te Whare Whakaruruhau o Raumanuka in Naenae, the team are passionate about ‘lifting’ and supporting tāne to achieve their moemoea. As lived practitioners of te ao Māori we are guided by the teachings of our ancestors and the tikanga and kawa of our two iwi, Ngāti Toa Rangatira and Te Āti Awa. We use our Māori world view to sustain the mana and integrity of our kaupapa through the Mauriora framework. We’re not going to lie, it gets uncomfortable in what we do but we work hard to get comfortable so we can learn from the experiences and be better prepared when we get uncomfortable again!
About you
Well, after hearing about us and about the role, you’ll know whether you’re the right person, and whether now is the right time for you. Your high-level experience and professional expertise in supporting people that face challenges is a given. Of course, you’ll be well practiced with being able to demonstrate a Kaupapa Māori approach to your mahi and can demonstrate an ability to work in an engaging manner whilst maintaining boundaries and professionalism.
But the thing that will really stand out is your love for our mahi, and the people. You’ll be ready to give your best in the service of others, in areas that really matter. We’re up to big things, so if this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
Excited? We are! For more info get in touch with Wiremu Tamaki on 027 786 8642.
