information regarding the education grant

1. Education Grants are made available for those pursuing post-secondary school education. This includes polytechnic, university, college of education and whare wānanga, etc.

2. Applicants will only be considered from those who are Ngāti Toa.

3. Applications will close Tuesday May 31 2022.

4. Te Reo Māori has been a priority for Te Rūnanga O Toa Rangatira Inc, therefore, students undertaking Māori language study will be considered a high priority.

5.  This committee will only consider subsidising course fees.

7. Please ensure that all necessary documentation is included with the application:

• Bank Account (An official receipt)
• Confirmation letter from your Education provider
- Confirmation of Course Fees from your Education provider
• Last years results (if applicable)
8. Please supply details of your bank account number. Grants approved will be direct credited into your bank account.

9. We have entered into a partnership with Maori Education Trust for the Iwi Education Grants. This partnership provides Ngāti Toa iwi members with more funding for NZ based students that are studying full time or completing a post graduate degree and attending a NZQA approved Education Provider.

Applicants will need to give permission for us to share your information with Māori Education Trust and the Ministry of Education. As part of the Ministry of Education's verification process, they may contact you (this is usually done over the phone).  Māori Education Trust also publish recipients of grants on their website.
