He kupu whakamiha tēnei ki a koutou kei te iwi o Ngāti Toa Rangatira tēna koutou katoa, he karanga hui tēnei ki a koutou te hunga e whai whakaaro ana ki te whakatū he kura motuhake, he kura hou mo ngā uri o Ngāti Toa. He kura tēnei ka whakaako mā te reo Māori anake.
Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira are proud to announce that we are moving forward with the establishment of a Ngāti Toa Kura Kaupapa Māori. All curriculum subjects will be taught in Te Reo Māori.

We are seeking your input into our kura and would welcome you to attend one of our hui scheduled in Takapūwāhia and Hongoeka over the coming months. Details below.

E te whanau, kua tae te wā kia taketake anō ngā waewae ki te whenua, hei korowai mo ā tātou tamariki.
Whānau, it’s our time to have a presence on our whenua, to educate our tamariki under the korowai of Ngāti Toa Rangatira.

He kura rūmaki reo mo ngā tau 1-8 kura tuatahi, Wharekura tau 9-13 tēnei kura.
The proposed kura will be total immersion for tamariki from years 1 – 8 and wharekura for years 9-13.

Our moemoea is for our kura to be located on the whenua our tupuna selected in 1848, Whitireia. With a major focus on Environmental Sciences.

The curriculum will be developed using the four key matapono set out in the manuscripts of Ngati Toa tupuna, Te Atanatiu Te Kairangi:

  • Whakapapa-Geneology
  • Ngā Mahi ā Ngā Tūpuna- Ancestral Practices
  • Tahuri ki te Ahu Whenua- Environmental Sciences
  •  Pakanga- Resillience

Nau mai haere mai kia whakawhiti korero whakaaro, kia whakarēhitatia āu tamariki mokopuna ranei.
